Our workplaces and communities are not static. We are regularly exposed to new ideas and ways of thinking. When we are adaptable, we are ready to take on new challenges when expected or unexpected change occurs, by planning, staying focused, persisting, and overcoming setbacks" (Government of Canada, 2021).
Why is adaptability important?
Our workplaces and communities are never static, and we are regularly exposed to new ideas and ways of thinking. New innovative systems are being developed and implemented, new colleagues join the workforce, and new people move into our communities continually. When we are adaptable, we are ready to take on new challenges.
What will I learn?
In FUSION’s Adaptability module you will learn what change means and how to manage uncertainty. You will look at the role of resilience for dealing with change and for developing your adaptability and flexibility skills. You will become familiar with Bridges' model — a model that maps how to move through change — and you will identify tactics and strategies that help with transitions.
